VP-12-IR

The VP-12-IR’s 12mm viewing area was designed for tight areas or for use with infrared (IR) cameras with smaller, wider angle lens systems. While the VP-12-IR is small in size, it is still big on features. The polymer lens material and switchgear-grade plastics assures compliance by maintaining an IP65/NEMA 4 seal whether open or closed. This keeps your energized electrical equipment in a closed and guarded condition, allowing your thermographers to work safely and efficiently. With the smaller footprint of the VP-12-IR, it could be the answer for providing a thermographer access to more challenging areas. This will allow monitoring of equipment that would not have been possible with a larger window. The durability, flexibility and proven transmission stability of IRISS polymer IR windows continues with the VP-12-IR.

Because Sometimes a Smaller Infrared Window is All You Need

  • Versatile

IRISS VP-12-IR works with all IR cameras for low, medium and high voltage equipment located indoors or outdoors.

  • Fixed and Stable Transmission (FAST)

Surpassing even the original industrial-grade VP Series, the VP-12-IR has visually clear IR transmissive viewing area available.

  • Poly-View System Technology

The exclusive industrial-grade, reinforced Poly-View System™ polymer allows any theromographic camera to monitor completely undisturbed assets inside electrical equipment.

Tested and Certified to The Highest Industry Standards

IRISS IR windows are the most certified windows in the industry with IEEE (impact & load), UL, cUL, Lloyds and CSA C22.2 14-13 for industrial control equipment Check out this product certifications!

  • UL 50V

UL 50V applies to infrared windows and is more of a classification than a standard that applies for performance-of-build characteristics.

  • CSA C22.2 No. 14-10

Canadian Standards Association shows that a product has been independently tested and certified to meet recognizable standards for safety and performance.

  • UL 508 & 508A

UL 508 and UL 508A are classification for the components used on electrical panels. UL 746C is a standard requiring flammability and impact tests for polymeric materials used on electrical equipment.

  • IP65/NEMA 4

These equivalent ratings certify enclosures for indoor or outdoor use. They protect against access to hazardous parts, ingress of foreign objects and water from rain, sleet, snow, splashing or hose directed water & ice formation damage.

  • UL 50E

UL 50E standard applies to enclosures for electrical equipment intended to be installed and used in non-hazardous locations.

  • Lloyd’s of London

Lloyd’s provides independent, third-party approval certificates attesting to a product’s conformity with specific standards or specifications. It verifies the manufacturer’s production quality systems through a combination of design reviews and type testing.

  • UL 1558

Requirement covers metal-enclosed, low-voltage power circuit breaker switchgear assemblies containing but not limited to low-voltage power circuit breakers, switches, control, instrumentation and metering, protective and regulating equipment.

  • American Burea of Shipping

An ABS assessment is the pre-approval of a product for use on a variety of ABS- classed ships following a technical evaluation. Ship designers, builders and owners can select the product to be placed aboard and ABS-classed vessel.

  • UL 746C

Sets the impact & flammability standards for polymer materials used in electrical equipment to 1500 volts. Plastic/polymer parts of an IR window must pass flammability tests at room temperature & remain intact during an impact test performed at 0°C (32°F).

  • DNV

DNV Certification is awarded for marine and offshore applications and allows preventative maintenance on electrical equipment in these vertical markets. DNV covers Rules for Classification of Ships and Offshore Standards (vessels, tankers, military and cruise ships, and oil drilling riggs).

  • IEEE C37 20.2a.3.6

The IEEE C37 20.2 Section 3.6 is the impact and load requirement for all viewing panes installed on medium and high voltage switchgear. Panes made from crystal of glass will not pass these requirements.
