The IRISS VPFC (Viewing Pane Fixed Crystal)
ranges of IR windows are our crystal based Viewing Panes.
The VPFC range utilizes Calcium Fluoride as the standard
lens, however we also offer Germanium, Zinc Selenide, Sapphire
and other more specialized materials as lens materials;
the choice of material required will depend on the application.

These have been subjected to the UL 508 test,
and the body assemblies are UL94 5VA flammability rated.
However the crystals we use for the infrared lens are 3mm
thick and currently exempt impact and flammability testing
and are not required to be subjected to the UL746c tests,
and as such do not have the strength of our VPFR range of
IR windows. See the Impact Test
Video.
Features of the IRISS VPFC Range of Viewing
Panes:
UL94 5VA Flammability Rated Assembly
IP65 / NEMA 4 Rated Both Open &
Closed
5 types of IR viewing materials available
catering to any environmental, operational or budgetary
requirement
Available in 2, 3 & 4 Inch Viewing
Diameters
Allows Safe Thermal Imaging of Fully
Energized Electrical Components Through Closed Doors
Suitable For Use With ALL Makes of
Infra Red Cameras
Manufactured Using Non Conductive Materials
Simple Installation in 10 Minutes
Important Safety Note:
Due to the material limitations associated with crystals
this range is not really considered suitable for Industrial
applications. This is primarily due to the fact that no
crystal IR viewing pane lens can meet the mandatory impact
and load tests required by IEEE for viewing panes fitted
to electrical switchgear.
